LIGHTING   

At Room by Room we want you to have the home of your dreams and our professional design team will help you with all your lighting questions: You can design a beautiful room, but your work will be wasted if no one can see it.  

Every room can include up to four types of home lighting so your guests don't have to feel their way around the room. Each has its own contribution to the room's ambiance.

Ambient Light:

Ambient lighting is general light that fills the room. The light is diffused and produces an overall glow. It should be inconspicuous and blend into the surroundings.

Task Light:

Task lighting means providing lighting for a specific area. Using a separate or different light in a place used for reading, or a different light in a place used for writing, and still a different light in an area used exclusively for crafts would be examples of task lighting.

Accent Light:

Accent lighting accents a particular part of the room or object in the room. An example would be lighting to accent a painting or sculpture. Accent lighting is the most dramatic type of lighting.

Decorative Light:

Decorative lighting is treated as a design element. An example would be a dramatic wrought iron candle stand or small decorative lamp shaped like a butterfly. It may not be designed to give off much light, but provides a decorative touch.

Installation:

Lighting is the only product we sell for which we do not provide expert installation.  Please contact a qualified and licensed electrician.

Bulbs:

A well-lit room looks warm and welcoming, but don't forget the bulbs. Natural full-spectrum bulbs can make everything in your room look better, including you! And today, with concern for the environment peaking, the use of Compact Fluorescents is growing rapidly. Compact Fluorescent bulbs produce the same amount of light but use much less energy doing it compared to regular incandescent bulbs. We carry a wide variety of bulbs that can be installed in the fixtures you buy from us. Whether they be Halogen, Xenon, Compact Fluorescent, or standard, we can make your room shine.
